Adult Classes
Weekly Ongoing Classes:
Ceramics - Dean Hultman
Note: New Class Format-
Ceramics is now a 5-week class - 4 weeks of creating, 1 week of glazing.
The cost is $100 for members and $125 for non-members with a $25 clay fee for 25 lbs.
It is designed for any ability level. Class meets on Mondays from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm.

Watercolor Classes
Dick Church will be offering a 6-week Beginning/Intermediate Watercolor Class at the Chesterton Art Center starting Friday, June 28 from 10-12. Dick will lead students through a variety of watercolor techniques - a perfect class for the first-time painter or a wonderful refresher for the mildly experienced. The cost of the class is $60 for members and $65 for non-members. Supplies are not included. Dick will discuss supplies with all beginners to start the class. George Kassal will be teaching a Beginning Digital Photography class at the Chesterton Art Center in June.
The class is designed for people who are new to digital and primarily use "point and shoot" cameras. George will cover the basic operation of these cameras and the use of features like scene modes, exposure compensation, white balance and use of the flash. Special topics will include moving images from the camera to the computer, uploading to online photo sharing sites, sending images via email and hints for basic shooting conditions. Students should bring their camera and instruction manual to class. The class will be held June 12, 19, and 26 from 6-8 p.m. at the Chesterton Art Center. June Jewelry Classes with Mara Wible

Crystal Dream Bracelet will be held on Tuesday, June 25 at 5:15 or 7:00. Students will create a chain maille bracelet that features a number of shiny rings and crystals.The cost for class is $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
July Jewelry Classes with Mara Wible
Mara Wible will be offering a jewelry class each Tuesday during the month of July at the Chesterton Art Center.
On July 2, at 5:15 or 7:00, a Festive Chain Maille Earring class will be offered. Students will have the opportunity to make (2) pairs of earrings during class. The cost is $20 for members or $25 for non-members.
A Peyote Bezel Pendant class will be held on July 9 at either 5:15 or 7:00. Participants will learn how to cage crystals or stones by using a circular peyote stitch. Students must have a basic understanding of peyote to take this class. Class is $25 for members and $30 for non-members of the Art Center.
On July 16, a Criss-Cross Bracelet class will be offered at 5:15 or 7:00. Students will use criss-cross rings to create components for a fabulous bracelet. The cost for the class is $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
A Shaggy Loop Earring class will be held on July 23 at 5:15 or 7:00. Participants will use colorful beads and jump rings to create (2) pairs of earrings. Class is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
On July 30 at 5:15, Mara will offer a Byzantine Bracelet class. Students will create a supple chain maille by using a 4 into 1 pattern. The cost for the class is $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
An intermediate Byzantine class called Rolling Byzantine Bracelet will be held on July 30 at 7:00. Participants will learn a variation on the Byzantine weave and must have taken the Byzantine Bracelet class prior to taking this one. The Rolling Byzantine class is $25 for members and $30 for non-members.

Helen Burkett will be offering a 3-day workshop titled "High Contrast Watercolor" on August 6, 7, and 8 from 9-4. The cost of the workshop is $100 for members and $125 for non-members. Once the payment has been received, each student will be given Helen's full-sized template to prepare the drawing before class, along with a materials list. The focus is on palms this year. Please sign up early to guarantee a seat. Class size is limited.
