ART CENTER NEWS

DUNELAND WEAVERS GUILD
Members of the Duneland Weavers Guild will host a champagne reception and style show on Sunday, April
6, from 1 pm - 4 pm to kick off their month-long exhibit. Several lucky winners will walk away with prizes during the style show, which begins at 2 pm. The exhibit of original handwoven garments, wallhangings, linens and other one-of-a-kind will be on display throughout April. A special exhibit within the Weavers show will highlight rugs woven by the residents of Sharing
Meadows. Margaret Jones, volunteer instructor at the Rolling Prairie village of “other-abled” adults , stated that she is “amazed how much color and beauty are within the 50 rugs designed by the residents.”

INDIANA ARTISAN DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
The Indiana Artisan Development Project (IADP) will develop a brand that gives meaning and recognition to Indiana-made goods. To accomplish that, the IADP will: promote handcrafted and value-added food products made in Indiana, telling the stories of local artisans who produce them; encourage artisans to leverage the IADP logo and branding; provide Internet representation via the IADP website and online directory. To participate in the program, artisans need only successfully complete the jurying process. Applicants can be for-profit or non-for-profit corporation, as well as unincorporated individual
artisans. Participants will include an artisan or business that produces a visual arts product, hand-crafted by the applicant, or under the direct supervision of the applicant, that can be purchased and taken by, or shipped to, the buyer.
