The Chesterton Art Center will be starting a new session of Monday Night Ceramics on June 4th. from 5:30-8:30. During this 5-week class, beginning students will develop fundamental wheel-throwing techniques, while returning students will refine their techniques to create more complex forms.

The Chesterton Art Center is offering Life Drawing Open Studio on Monday nights from 6:30-9:30. A fully clothed model will be provided as the subject matter.

Judy Gregurich and Mark Montgomery will be teaching an 8-week Stained Glass Open Studio starting Tuesday, June 12 from 7-9. This class is designed for students who have taken a previous stained glass class at the Art Center.

Dick Church will be offering a 6-week Beginning/Intermediate Watercolor Class at the Chesterton Art Center starting Friday, June 29 from 10-12. Dick will lead students through a variety of watercolor techniques – a perfect class for the first-time painter or a wonderful refresher for the mildly experienced.

Mark VanderVinne will be teaching a 1-day workshop focused on painting trees on Saturday, July 7 from 9-4 at the Chesterton Art Center. Mark describes the class as – “Trees are part of nearly every landscape painting. Understanding how they grow and being able to paint their shapes is integral to the landscape artist.

Mary Acton will host (2) different dates for Pysanky Egg classes at the Chesterton Art Center. The classes are for both adults and children ages 10 and up, and will be held on Wednesday, July 11 from 6-9 p.m and again on Saturday, July 14 from 9-12 a.m.

Local painter, Mark VanderVinne, will host Critique Night at the Chesterton Art Center on Wednesday, July 11 at 7:30 p.m. Guests are welcome to show up, with no prior registration required.

In this class, the traditional quilting rules will be tossed out the window. Leslie, the instructor, provides this as a class description, “We will break all rules – we love knots, we celebrate big stitches and we never, ever turn under a hem.
