Joan Baruffi:

Joan Baruffi has a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin (Stevens Point), and gives spinning demonstrations at schools, allowing everyone the opportunity to try spinning on the spinning wheel. She teaches the art of spinning on the 'drop spindle', welcoming students to bring their spinning wheel to class or practice spinning on her wheel. In the spinning class, students also experience: dying with Kool Aid, carding and blending the wool, and skirting and washing a fleece.

Joan learned to spin and purchased her spinning wheel and two sheep from a Wisconsin shepherdess back in 1984. By taking classes at annual "Spin-Ins", Joan has developed her skills in spinning various designer yarns for knitters and crocheters.
