Perhaps due to his Native American heritage (Potawatomi and Miami), Mr. Goodman has always revered the land and wildlife. This is reflected in his paintings of landscapes, flowers, and animals.
He has paintings in the permanent collection in several public buildings and in numerous private collections. One of his paintings was selected to be shown in the Indiana Governor's Residence as part of the First Lady's Arts Series.
He is a member of American Society of Artists, Artists and Crafters of Porter County (Chesterton Art League), Tall Grass Arts Association, Northern Indiana Arts Association, Wilmette Arts Guild, and Illiana Artists. He serves on the Board of Directors of Chesterton Art Center.
Mr. Goodman teaches acrylic painting and drawing classes for adults and children in his studio and at various area locations. He has taught in the Hobart Parks Department’s Art-in-the-Park Program, the Northern Indiana Arts Association Outreach Program, and at the Chesterton Art Center.
He feels that art can and should be enjoyed by everyone and that anyone with interest and talent should have access to education and training in the arts.
