Paper Marbling Workshop / Jun 1

$55.00

WHEN: 1-day workshop / Saturday, June 1 from 10 AM-12 PM

AGES: Adults, 18+

DESCRIPTION: With guidance from Diana Stezalski, students will explore the magic of paper marbling, an ancient Japanese practice known as “suminagashi” or “floating ink”. Working with a small tray, students will create unique marbled patterns on the surface of water using both black and colored inks. Students will then lightly submerge their paper into the tray to transfer the design, resulting in a beautifully dyed paper. These papers can then be used as the background for a future painting, as collage material, or as their own unique works of art. Papers will be left at the Center to dry and can be picked up at a later date.
